Things I love...

Some things that I'm LOVING right now:

  1. Feeling the baby move - definitely the best thing about pregnancy so far. Absolutely amazing!
  2. My baby bump - I love the fact that I'm starting to really look pregnant and not just overweight or bloated!
  3. Finally getting back to running - especially with the weather the way it is right now. It relieves so much stress for me!
  4. Sour Skittles - I loved these before I was pregnant, but now I am obsessed. I try to refrain as much as possible (obviously, I don't need all that sugar), but sometimes, I have to have a small bag. And by small bag, I mean I finish the entire bag plus the sugary-sour powder in the bottom of the bag.
  5. Fruit - not veggies - any and every kind of fruit. Yum!
  6. Having friends that are going through this with me and being able to share it with them.
  7. Pretty much being done with working Saturdays (which essentially means surviving another busy season...pending no major issues in the next 6 days!).

March Update

March has been a VERY busy month in the Faunce household. Between my working like crazy to meet our March deadlines, incubating a child, and trying to get ready to buy our new house and sell our old house, I feel like we've barely had time to breathe! Here's a update of everything going on in our lives these days:

First, big new on the baby front: For the first 11 weeks of my pregnancy, I felt terrible. So, I ate anything that sounded good. Since I have started feeling back to my normal self, I have tried to go back to eating the healthy foods that I normally eat. I do, however, have two vices - the first is Fanta Orange - I LOVE it! I never really liked orange soda before I got pregnant. But, now, I have one at least 2-3 times a week. My second is one Chic-fil-a chicken biscuit a week. The day before I reached 15 weeks, while on my way to get my weekly chicken biscuit, I was sipping my coffee (my single cup of the day), and I felt the baby move for the first time! It felt like he/she did a flip. The baby was face down at my 12 week appointment - I'm pretty sure it got sick of being upside down. The first week after that first "flip," I only felt the baby move a few more times - these movements were more like butterflies or flutters. I thought it was really early to feel the baby move, but Google said otherwise. (And I've said all along that I feel like I'm a week further along than the baby is measuring.) And now it's moving A LOT! I can gaurantee some little tiny kicks and punches 1) after my morning coffee and 2) after one of my Fanta Orange episodes. Feeling the baby move has made everything so much more real. I can't wait for the baby to really start kicking so Jason can feel, too!

This month also brought my 26th birthday. Oh how I LOVED being 25! It was such a great year for me! I know that 26 is going to be a great year, too. There was just something about moving into the "upper" 20s. A couple of weeks ago, my mom came to visit for my birthday. We had a great time! After my volunteer shift for JLA on Saturday, we spent the afternoon looking for maternity clothes (which are very hard to find for petite people, apprently!). We were able to find a few things here and there. The find of the day, however, was spotted at a local baby consignment store that also sells a few maternity clothes. I go in there from time-to-time just to see what they have. Well, that Saturday was my lucky day! Because they just so happened to have a pair of Citizen of Humanity maternity jeans!!! They are a couple of sizes bigger than what I normally where in Citizens, but a friend of mine (who also appreciates quality jeans) told me I should buy them a little bigger so I could wear them the entire pregnancy. And you will not believe the price....$29.99!!!!! They look brand new!!!! (As you can tell, I'm all about nice jeans...but, more than that, I'm all about a deal!!!)

Finally, we closed on our new house today! Wow! I can't believe that has already come and gone! I am so excited and ready to get in the new house...we just need to sell ours first. Know anyone interested?? This has been something that has been very hard for me. Those of you who know me well know that I am not a patient person. When Jason and I started trying to get pregnant, I wanted to be pregnant IMMEDIATELY. Now that our house is on the market, I want it to sell IMMEDIATELY! No patience. I know that God is using this to make me more reliant on Him. Jason is so much better at this than I am. He keeps telling me that God is not going to start this and not see us through. I know that he is right, but it's hard to believe at times.

I'll leave you with my 16 week photo. I'm 17 weeks tomorrow, but I'll post that one as soon as I can. I'm looking forward to this weekend - hanging out with Charlie tomorrow morning (one of my favorite little boys in the world!) and also throwing a baby shower for my good friend, Liz, tomorrow. Should be a fun day!
We DESPERATELY need some sun!!

Home for Sale

I love our home. Seriously. Even though we have purchased a new home, I literally sat in the living room and started crying the other day because I'm really going to miss this house. This is our first home, and Jason and I have spent so much time making it our own. (Well, I have spent a lot of time requesting updates; Jason has spent a lot of time making them happen. I'm so thankful he's so much like his dad!) This house has so many memories, and we have seen so many milestones here. When we purchased on our home 4 years ago from Angie and Jeremy Young, I can remember vividly them saying how special this home was to them. And it has not disappointed us. I only hope the lucky family that buys our house enjoys it as much as we have.

Attic Sale Finds

So, as most of you know, I am all about a bargain. And I am not above buying items that are gently used - one man's trash is another man's treasure! Every year, the Junior League has an Attic Sale, which consists of each member donating $175 worth of "stuff" (some "junk"), which is then sold at a large garage sale, basically. As with any garage sale, you can find lots of junk; but, among the clutter of junk, there are a few jewels that you can find if you know where to look and what to look for. On Friday night, I went to the preview party for the Attic Sale, looking specifically for anything that would look good in our new home. Jason is all about things that are different and not matchy-matchy. It's taken me some time to get there, but I'm trying to broaden my horizons when it comes to furniture and decorating (you're talking about a CPA with an accounting and math degree - I LOVE symmetry and matchy-matchy). So, I was trying to find things that would be unique and different. I found some great stuff of Friday night! My finds included 3 decorative mirrors, a bench for the foyer, a small lamp for one of the bathrooms, a beautiful, white Pfaltzgraff pitcher, a mail holder for the kitchen (that needs a little TLC) and an awesome free-standing wine opener (which I will be using in 6 months!).
On Saturday morning, I had a work shift from 6:30 to 9:30 and was assigned the baby clothes section. Needless to say, it gave me the itch to buy something for the baby. But, since we don't know what we are having yet (and since most of the good stuff was taken early in the morning), it was slim-pickins for Baby Faunce. But, I did find a couple of cute items that the baby will be able to use right away, whether it's a boy or a girl, including a cute bib, a receiving blanket and a sweet white baby blanket with yellow trim. Love them! Grand total for these three items....$2.00!!!!

I also sifted through the baby toys while I was there and found some great noise-making toys, which are apparently very expensive at the store. They are all very clean, gently used and work perfectly! Grand total for these 4 toys....$15!!!! You can't beat that!! Bruiser and Bella thought I bought them toys...
And, finally, 14 weeks photo. Feeling great, feeling bigger. Finally got some maternity pants from Gap, which fit great. Big change from 12.5 weeks, huh?? Baby Faunce is definitely growing!

Over the Edge!!!!

Yes, selling this house may push me over the edge!! Please pray for patience for my husband. Bless his heart! He's so clueless when it comes to uncontrollable emotions of a pregnant woman!

On another note, he has been AWESOME in getting everything ready in the house! I've barely had to lift a finger!

Update

Baby/mama update - I feel like a new person!!! At 13 weeks, 3 days I'm feeling wonderful! I've got my energy back (for the most part - now I'm just tired from working so much and not as much from carrying around my little extra precious cargo); the neasea has subsided 100%, which means I can finally eat normal food that I've always enjoyed; and I feel like my brain is coming back full-force (Thank goodness! For a week or so there, I was really concerned that I wasn't going to be able to perform normal functions, including performing my everyday duties at work, for nine months!). I feel like I'm getting bigger by the day. I'll have to post a picture soon. I have an extremely busy week this week between working, Bible study, Junior League meeting and Attic Sale workshifts and a meeting at church (whew!), but I'm really looking forward to working out next week! I started walking a few weeks ago (since running and cycling have been completely out of the question with the way I've been feeling), but with my schedule, it has been very sporadic. I'm really excited to get into a routine and get back to working out again!

House update - Last week, we put the offer in on a great house (see picture below). Two days after submitting the offer, Nita, our realtor, called to inform us that they accepted our offer! Not only did they accept the offer, which was significantly less than the list price (and included the seller paying all closing costs), but they accepted the offer with NO changes and NO counteroffer! What a blessing!!! We are so excited!!!

We are planning on listing our house sometime this week - if you know anyone interested!!!
