House Renovations Continued...

One reason I've been MIA from the blogging world is that we have been so busy with the new house renovations. A couple of weeks ago, Jason's parents came to town to basically help us with anything that needed to be done. While they were here, they cleaned our carpets (my father-in-law is a firefighter and cleans carpets on the side, so it was definitely an expert job!), cleaned our entire house, helped us refinish our fireplace/hearth, AND helped us paint!!! Jasmin and Derrick also pitched in! It was definitely a family affiar, and we are so grateful for the help!

Fireplace before the makeover - 90s hunter green - terrible!

and AFTER!!!! I LOVE IT!!!(At this point, we were still working on getting all the excess grout off, but you get the idea.)
And here are a couple of pictures of the fireplace progress
While Jason and John were busy on the fireplace, me, Melinda, Jasmin and Derrick painted doors and doorframes:

Move in day is exactly a week away!!! My mom is coming Tuesday to help start the packing; I've also been able to recruit Jasmin to help. And Thursday, Jason's parents are coming as well to help with the unpacking. I can't believe that in a week we will be moving out of our home into our beautiful new house. It's bittersweet - I'm so excited to get settled in to the home where we will raise our family, but I'm also sad to leave the home where we have made so many sweet memories! Pray for us during this transition, especially that Jason and I will have patience with each other!

30 Weeks

Update to come later on how I'm feeling and what's been happening, but thought I would at least post a 30 week picture. I can't believe only 10 more weeks (now 9 and a half) to go!!!

I know, I know....

I'm soooo behind!!! We have just been so incredibly busy working, working on the house, taking a brief reprieve at the beach and working on the house some more. Move in day is 13 days away and counting! I can't believe it's almost here. I'm going to PTC this weekend for a baby shower thrown by my sweet cousins and my Aunt Dona. I can't wait to spend time with my family this weekend!! :) Next weekend we are headed back to PTC again to spend some time with Jason's Aunt Michelle, Uncle Chris and cousins, who are coming to visit from Michigan. I promise to post pictures and updates of everything happening in our crazy life soon!

Shout Out!

I have got to take a minute to give a major SHOUT OUT to my amazing brother and sister-in-law and my sweet friend Elise for helping us paint today!!! And also a SHOUT OUT to my sweet friend April who brought us yummy pizza for lunch as well as a sweet new outfit for my baby girl!!! I am seriously amazed at what we were able to get done today! My mother-in-law has encouraged me to let people help us out if they offer...these folks offered, so I took them up on it. I had no idea that professional painters were coming to my house! Collectively, we were able to get the top half of the dining room painted with two coats, finish the first coat on the master bedroom and also the second coat, repaint the half bath downstairs (which we decided was a little too "electric green" for our taste), and also paint the trim in all four bedrooms upstairs! We honestly can't say enough how thankful we are for the help this weekend!

My sweet friend, April, who brought us pizza for lunch. And the sweet outfit she brought my baby girl...stop it! How cute is this?!?

Me and Elise working on the master bedroom.Derrick and Jasmin were awesome! Who knew they were professional painters?!?LOVE MY NEW DINING ROOM COLOR!!! Thank you, Victoria Hulsebus, for being my inspiration in this room!!! You've got great taste!! ;)New half bathroom color - this is the "key lime pie" color we were originally going for. Much better!

Third Trimester!!!

According to What To Expect When You're Expecting, I'm beginning my 28th week today, which also begins the THIRD TRIMESTER!!! What?!?! Seriously!?!? I feel like I just found out I was pregnant yesterday! I'm so excited to meet this little angel, but I'm also not sure that I'm ready for this pregnancy to end. I absolutely LOVE being pregnant (which I realize sounds so bizarre to those of you that hated being pregnant!). I feel like this has been such a sweet time that only I get share with June Anne. As Jason told me the other day, "Enjoy these nine months...cause then she's mine!" So, I am. I am enjoying every minute of this special time. So, third trimester, here we come!

26 Weeks

(This was taken this weekend - I'm a few days behind on posting...)

...the renovations continue...

We typically spend Memorial Day weekend with friends, either hanging out by the pool, at the lake, cooking out and just relaxing. This year, with our anticipated move-in date (we are hoping to move around July 7th or 8th) and the arrival of our little angel (3 months and 2 days!) both quickly approaching, we spent this past weekend continuing the renovations on our new home.

We were able to get a LOT done, especially consider my limitations being 6 months prego. In 3 days, we got two guest rooms completely painted and also almost got through the first coat in the master bedroom!

Guest bedroom #1 (a soft green, very calming):

Guest bedroom #2 (an almost-white light blue):Master bedroom (an earthy green):
My sweet husband ran downstairs to clean some brushes and left me and baby girl a little note on the wall. I love him! He's such a wonderful husband!
