Meet the Family

Sadly, this is the most recent picture that I have of our family (it was taken December 2007). During the past year and a half, our lives have been quite chaotic between Jason's traveling for his Masters program and me working full-time while also pursuing a Masters degree. We look forward to a day when our lives will permit more family photos, but for now, this one will just have to do.

I have started this blog as a way for family and friends to keep up with our crazy lives and also to share our lives with those that we love - you! I have a number of friends who have recently started blogging - many of them have started blogs because they are starting families (either they are pregnant or already have little ones). (No, I am not pregnant.) I have thoroughly enjoyed "blog stalking" these friends, and I get quite agitated when they fail to update their blogs. I hope that you find this blog entertaining and, hopefully, it will allow you to keep up with us.

A little bit about us for those of you who do not know: Jason and I are highschool sweethearts. We started dating when I was 15 years old, and I knew right away that he was the one. Five years later, on June 11, 2005, we got married. The ceremony was beautiful, and the day was perfect (with the exception of the rain - but, don't they say that rain on your wedding day is a sign of good luck?). We will celebrate our 4 year anniversary on Thursday, and I can't believe how quickly it has gone by.

Jason graduated with a Bachelor of Nursing degree from Medical College of Georgia in May 2005 and is currently pursuing his Master of Science in Nursing, Nursing Anesthesia degree (say that three times fast!) also at the Medical College of Georgia. Jason is currently traveling all over the state completing his rotations at various hospitals. He will graduate on December 11, 2009.

I graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting and a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics from Mercer University in 2007. We then moved to Augusta, Ga, so Jason could go to MCG. I currently work for an large regional accounting firm in Augusta and am also pursuing my Master of Accountancy degree from Auburn University. I will graduate on May 14, 2010.

While Jason and I do not have real children, we do (as you can see from the photo) have two babies that we LOVE dearly - Bruiser (tan and white) and Bella (black and white). We got Bruiser literally weeks after we got married, and we got Bella almost exactly a year later. They are both humane society dogs, and we couldn't ask for better dogs! They are definitely my companions with Jason being away so often.

So, this is our family! Welcome!
