Jason and I are part of a couples Bible study that we LOVE. These couples are such a support system for us - they love us, challenge us, encourage us, and move us to change. Recently, as a Bible study, we decided that we wanted to start doing more to help others in our community. One of the things we decided to do was to go in groups to one of the soup kitchens in the area. Jason and I volunteered today, and it was so moving. The people who came were so thankful, and it made me really realize that you never know what people are going through. One individual that I met, Antonio, was so funny, and we kept picking at each other about him not wanting any salad with his spaghetti. When we left, he wanted to know when we would be back. It was so moving to know that he wanted us to come back. Seeing these individuals made me so thankful for the things that we have. We live such a comfortable life, and we are so thankful to God for all of our blessings. However, this experience really challenged us to step out of our comfortable lives to help others.
