$75 for a dog? That's what you think!!

Who would have thought that two dogs from PetSmart would end up being so expensive? We spent $75 each for Bruiser and Bella, and they came spayed/neutered and with all of their first shots. You would think that was an excellent deal....until something goes wrong. My poor dogs have had such a hard time. Bruiser had to have two surgeries last year because his knee was coming out joint. These surgeries were accompanied by weeks of narcotics and physical thearpy (as well as a bill to prove it!). Luckily that is fixed now, but he still can't run and play like he used to (and he's only 4 years old! Poor thing!). And now my poor girl dog, Bella, has a rotten tooth that has to be pulled (according the vet, who seems to be very honest, it should have been pulled yesterday). I feel like such a bad mom for not noticing that her poor tooth was rotten! So, Bella goes on Monday to have a large moler in the back of her mouth pulled. Apparently, it's a pretty serious surgery that requires the vet to "dig out" her tooth and pull a flap of skin from the top of her mouth to cover the hole where the tooth was orinigally located. I feel so bad for her!! Although taking care of these dogs has cost more than I originally bargained for, I wouldn't trade my babies for any other dogs in the world. They are the best, and we love them!!

Jason has a JOB!!!

I am so happy to be able to share the news that Jason has officially accepted an offer today for his first job as a CRNA!!! He has been completing his first rotation of the semester at Doctor's Hospital in Augusta, which is where is has wanted to work for quite some time. Since the beginning of his rotation, he has been getting to the hospital early and staying late to make a good impression, and it has apparently paid off! Jason receiving this offer is such a blessing and an answered prayer. We love Augusta and weren't ready to leave, but obviously my husband had to have a job in order for us to stay. Not to mention that Jason enjoys the people at Doctors that he will be working with on a daily basis and has a lot in common with them. As I have learned in the past two years at CBH, there is definitely something to be said for liking the people you work with everyday. Jason finally having a job here in Augusta makes me feel that I can actually start to settle here, which is a good feeling. We are truly blessed!
